We partnered with One Community Church to train asylum seekers!

As you know, there are a large number of immigrants arriving in New York City. Together with One Community Church, we gave a Dementia Care training workshop!

We contacted several shelters in the neighborhood to offer free training, and The Good Samaritans signed up 33 immigrants who were excited to learn how to become caregivers for people with Alzheimer's! We are giving a 2-day workshop on December 5th and 7th at One Community Church on W. 45th Street (second floor). At the end of the course, the participants received a certificate that we hope will open some doors.

As an immigrant, I feel strongly that I must return it. I came to the United States in 1998 and thanks to several people who helped me at the beginning, I had opportunities to grow. By offering training, we hope to provide these asylum seekers with work skills that can secure them employment and provide them with techniques that will increase their capacity to care for others throughout their lives.

Thank you to all for your support.
